“A clever little tool”
Our unique bandsaw tension gauge uses a pair of rare earth magnets that easily and quickly attach to your bandsaw blade. Its central fulcrum deflects the blade a precise amount. When the blade reaches proper tension (15,000 psi), one of the magnets detaches from the blade. Use it to accurately tension carbon steel blades from 1/4” up to 3/4” on bandsaws with 6” or greater depth of cut.
Why You need it
Over tensioning your saw blade will reduce its lifespan and puts extra strain on your saw and tensioning spring. Conversely, under tensioning your blade will negatively impact the quality of your cuts. This is particularly true if you are resawing.
How It’s Made
The body of the EZtension gauge is 3D printed using PLA (polylactic acid) – a biodegradable biopolymer. All of the metal parts are detachable, so the body is fully recyclable at the end of its useful life.
