About EZtension.com

In 2014, I was working in the facilities department at the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship where there are six bandsaws of various vintage on campus. Each had its own setting for proper blade tensioning but without a gauge, students and staff were constantly guessing as to how to properly tension them.

There had to be an easier way! All the tensioning devices available were expensive, fragile, and difficult to use - not something for the average woodworker. I wanted to design a better gauge that would be easy to use, robust, and affordable.

Five years of nights and weekends and 40 prototypes later, I feel I have perfected the EZtension bandsaw tension gauge. It's compact, simple to use, accurate, and affordable. Each prototype was rigorously tested for accuracy using a dial indicator type of tension gauge.

I hope you enjoy using it!
