Step 1

Use the included setter and allen wrench to set the length of the center fulcrum screw to the width of bandsaw blade you are tensioning. It’s easiest to do this if you place the tension gauge on the edge of your bandsaw table as shown. Adjust the screw in or out as needed.

Step 2

Attach the EZtension gauge to your blade with the arrow pointing up. If both magnets are not able to attach to the blade, reduce the blade tension until both magnets attach to the blade.

The EZtension gauge is designed to work with carbon steel bandsaw blades. It will not work with bi-metal blades due to the different magnetic properties of bi-metal blades.

Step 3:

Slowly increase the tension on your blade until one of the tension gauge magnets detaches from the blade. Your blade is now properly tensioned and you can remove the gauge from the blade.
